POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP IN ADDICTION PSYCHOLOGY EMPHASIZING EVIDENCE-BASED PSYCHODYNAMIC TREATMENTS

Wholeview Wellness is accepting applications for a one-year Postdoctoral Position in Addiction Psychology which offers intensive training through individual and group supervision in evidence-based psychodynamic treatments for substance use disorders and co-occurring psychological disorders that will begin in the Summer or Fall of 2024.
Wholeview Wellness is a group psychotherapy practice and an NYS OASAS licensed outpatient addiction treatment program that provides addiction and psychological services in Midtown Manhattan just south of Grand Central Station. We provide exceptional care for people struggling with alcohol and other substance use disorders and we are looking for fellows who share our passion! Please visit our website at www.wholeview.co for additional information on our treatment center. Successful applicants will have completed an APA or CPA accredited doctoral program in clinical, school-clinical, or counseling psychology and an APA or CPA accredited internship and have experience and interest in treating adults with substance use disorders. Fellows will gain knowledge and experience using evidence-based psychodynamic therapies for substance use disorders that include Mentalization Based Therapy (MBT) and Supportive Expressive Therapy (SET). They will learn to use these treatments in an integrative fashion with other evidence-based practices (e.g. CBT, MI, ACT and DBT, medication-assisted treatment) to support patients’ goals of moderation or abstinence. Supervision and didactics for the psychodynamic treatment will be provided by Dr. William Gottdiener a board-certified psychologist, and psychoanalyst, who is an expert in psychodynamic approaches to substance use disorders and Dr. Sarah Church who is an expert in MBT. The treatment at Wholeview occurs in the context of an interdisciplinary treatment team. Learning how to work effectively as part of a treatment team is also a benefit of the fellowship. We offer competitive compensation, benefits, and supportive supervision in a stimulating group setting. If interested please send a cover letter and curriculum vitae to Sarah Church, Ph.D. at schurch@wholeview.co
