ARNICE IZQUIERDO, MA, CASAC-T

Arnice Izquierdo is a substance abuse counselor, who obtained both her bachelor’s degree and her master’s degree in psychology from Adelphi University. She also has a CASAC-T and is currently a student at New York University in the Mental Health Counseling & Wellness program. She has experience working with individuals who struggle with substance use disorders and with those who are in recovery. She has a particular expertise in supporting people seeking sobriety with Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT). She utilizes a combination of Motivational interviewing (MI), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and mindfulness techniques in her clinical practice. Arnice believes in a person-centered approach to assist clients in reaching their goals.
Prior to joining Wholeview, Arnice has worked as a substance use counselor in an OASAS licensed Opioid Treatment Program and with people on the autism spectrum doing Applied Behavioral Analysis. She has extensive experience working with patients diagnosed with opioid use disorder including those treated with methadone, Suboxone/buprenorphine, and Vivitrol /naltrexone. Finally, Arnice has experience working with individuals who have received a DUI who are in need of assessment and treatment. Arnice is bilingual and enjoys working with patients in both English and Spanish.
