What our community is saying
“Wholeview has transformed — and possibly saved — my life. Hands down this is the most helpful and effective help-support-treatment I’ve ever received. The psychologists here are the best you will ever find.”
“I have a loved one that has benefited greatly from Wholeview. The team is top notch and the gropus they offer have led to a significant improvement in the lives of those who participate.”
“The best outpatient program in NYC. Sarah Church is the Director. She does a class called Mentalization. It’s by far the best group to share and reinforce your feelings about what other people may think of you, what you want to tell them and explore feelings about what your family is thinking. It is the best group to calm you down in the early stages and tell people what you want and what you don’t have to share. It helps you understand if they are thinking the way you intend them to and be open and patient and kind with them. They may be thinking something completely different than you think they are which is an exceptional tool and strategy to reduce drama with friends and family in the early stages of treatment. It’s great open forum for others in your situation to help you change the way you think. Thanks!” Jennifer
“The care at Wholeview is second to none. I’ve been to several service providers like Wholview in NYC, and Wholeview is hands down the best. The clinicians are caring and compassionate. Drs. Ashley Hall, Hima Reddy and Isiah Sypher are all amazing and address each individual based on their unique needs. I have never felt like just “another patient” at Wholeview. For me, groups at Wholeview are the best experiences I’ve ever had. Also – the administration of the organization is effective, and efficient – billing is always accurate. My invoices are sent on time so that I can file with my insurance company right away. I can’t recommend Wholeview enough.”
“Knowing that your child feels comfortable going to therapy in this place is the greatest bust to the parents, when they deal with child’s addiction. Therapists and the receptionist in wholeview always were going extra miles and helped us in the most difficult situation. I know that my child got the best possible help, and that collaborated work of the therapists with parents and the child brought to the most positive outcome. I’m very greatfull to Dr Church, Dr Smith and Roger, and would certainly recommend wholeview wellness therapy group to all who is reaching for the help in fighting addiction!”
“Caring and compassionate therapists, I am very grateful to both Jacquelyn and Alexa in particular!”
“This place has helped me. The clinicians are caring and knowledgeable, the staff friendly and unfailingly professional, and the group at any given time serves as a community.”
“I had the gift of working with Sarah Church for a year. She is super bright, caring and excellent at her craft. She helped me on so many levels. I was able to get to a place within that year to move on, as she had given me the tools I needed to deal with my life.”
“To echo another reviewer, Wholeview is hands-down the best addiction treatment to be found in New York City (and certainly among the best in the United States.) Along my path to recovery from severe opiate addiction (multiple years clean now!) I have been through 4 inpatient rehab stays, 8 different outpatient programs, and a handful of sober living residences. Despite my best efforts, I relapsed time and time again. It wasn’t until I enrolled at Wholeview that I was able to successfully break this dangerous, painful cycle to remain drug-free and build the foundation of stable mental health that has afforded me my life back. Dr. Sarah Church, the program’s founder who continues to be involved in everything from leading groups, counseling individuals, and case management, is both an angel and a genius. Wholeview utilizes the best evidence-based practices, with a staff composed of PhD level clinicians (a vast departure from most recovery programs). Every single psychologist I have encountered at Wholeview through my groups and individual sessions has helped me improve my life in measurable ways and provided unparalleled resources. Wholeview clinicians are as caring as they are intelligent. As a patient, I have consistently felt understood, attended to, and hopeful throughout my entire experience with Wholeview. I honestly believe I might not be alive today to write this review had I not been fortunate to come across Wholeview. And while I am not usually in the practice of writing reviews online, to not share my experience when it comes to such a life-changing experience as addiction treatment would be a disservice to others seeking help for themselves or their loved ones. In addition to Wholeview’s main program, for individuals with Medicaid coverage there is Wholeview Direct — another gem in the rather dismal landscape of addiction treatment. As someone who has seen firsthand a diversity of treatment options, I wholeheartedly recommend Wholeview to anyone and everyone (families of addicts included…check out their CRAFT program) in need of help with dependence and addiction.”
“Words cannot describe how thankful I am to have found Dr. Colley, as it was at a time when I most needed someone to come into my life and help show me the way forward when I couldn’t see it myself. There is so much I could say about Amy and how she’s helped me, but the thing that stands out most is just how much she genuinely cares about her patients well-being. That might sound obvious, but it’s not, as most professionals simply care and put in work while they’re on the clock, but Amy went so far above and beyond that it left me in awe on so many occasions. Even though we’re no longer working together, she still checks in on me, both directly and indirectly (via my doctor). While we were working together, she would often text me to make sure I was up and getting my day started. When she recommended I find an ADHD coach, I was not motivated to do so, even though I knew it would benefit me. A couple of weeks later when I told her I hadn’t pursued it, she told me that she found one that is highly recommended and actually called the woman to recommend me as a patient to her. It has worked out incredibly well and I’m just so very thankful for Amy.If you are going through a tough time and don’t know where to turn, I can say without a doubt that going to Wholeview will help get you on track. It might not happen right away, but if you continue to show up, things will turn around for you, just like it did for me.”
“As a parent of a son participating in the program at Wholeview, words cannot express my appreciation and sincere gratitude I have for this facility. My son Jake began attending their IOP program this summer after many difficult years of living with a substance-abuse problem and nearly dying last year from his addiction.Wholeview provided my son with the environment he terribly needed, including an amazing support system made up of a professional staff of MDs, who are experts in the care and guidance of individuals with addiction problems. It was at Wholeview, where my son was able to share his experiences and gain acceptance of his problems. Roger, Director of Operations/Business Development, always made Jake feel comfortable, safe and secure, as did Dr. Church in small group settings, whom Jake spoke of often with the highest regard. If you, as a parent or significant individual have questions, Roger is kind and caring, and always responds promptly to telephone calls and emails. He has always read and returned my emails expeditiously with positive and supportive, comforting suggestions, updates and always presenting realistic goals for my son. We have surely found the right treatment center as Jake is preparing to transition, interviewing for jobs and optimistic about his future with a clear mind that is free of drugs. Thank you all at Wholeview for your exceptional psychological and social support. Because of you, Jake has truly been been given a second chance and new opportunities for his future survival. All of this can be directly attributed to the wonderful efforts and great work at Wholeview.” Tina
“I would definitely recommend Wholeview for anyone dealing with addiction; the staff is extremely experienced, they genuinely care about their clients and help you discover the direction you actually want to take your life in. I felt very comfortable going to therapy and speaking about my issues there, and that was something I was really worried would be an issue when I originally sought treatment. I hope others dealing with similar issues will take advantage of the services offered because this facility really represents state of the art addiction treatment, and I sincerely cannot thank them enough for their help.”
“This place with out a doubt saved my life. When I first started there I was a complete mess. I am glad I had the opportunity to find people that cared about my sobriety and this place was a great find. I think the small groups are great and makes it much easier everyone to be focused on individually. Dr. Church is a very caring person and I felt comfortable explaining my current situation to her from the very start. As well Roger who always is caring and makes sure I’m always attentive is a huge asset to wholeview and glad he is always there to assist me. Dr. Colley and Dr. Smith also have great groups and taught me how to cope with my addictions as well as deal with my panic attacks which happen much less frequently! Words can not express how much they have helped me and if you have the chance to go here I would definitely recommend Wholeview for any kind or addiction.”
“From the moment I entered Wholeview’s beautiful office I felt welcomed and comfortable. Before going online, I looked forward to seeing Roger before my session. He is very sweet, friendly, helpful and has the most calming presence. I attend one-on-one therapy with Dr. Church and a weekly DBT group with Dr. Barris. Dr. Church is open, kind, and very knowledgeable. After a short while, it will be hard to miss the research-based approach of this incredibly professional and compassionate team. After a year and a half of weekly sessions my life has changed for the better. I have learned where my anxiety around strangers, depressive moods, difficulties with romantic relationships, and occasional over drinking comes from. With that knowledge, as well as the validation and skills I have learned from Dr. Church and Dr. Barris, I’m living a much more peaceful inner life. Now, whenever I feel difficult emotions I can step back, understand them and deal with them in a healthy way instead of seeking distraction with bad habits. I feel very lucky I found and continue working with Wholeview.”
“I saw Sarah Church to for anxiety and panic disorder. Through CBT, I was given tools to cope and empower myself through months of severe, persistent anxiety. She helped me understand the relationship between anxiety, unhelpful thinking styles, and over- breathing. The cognitive work that was done in our sessions uncovered the source of the anxiety and gave me the ability to process and heal from the root. I am in a MUCH better place after seeing her. Sarah is relatable, compassionate and truly cares for her patients. I will always be grateful for the time I worked with her. I strongly recommend her to anyone who struggles with depression or anxiety/panic.”
