Mia Darrow-Cohen, LMSW, CASAC-P
Mia is a New York State Licensed Social Worker (LMSW) and a provisionally Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC-P). Originally from New York City, she graduated from the Macaulay Honors College at CUNY with a BA in Neuroscience and Psychology. She earned her Master of Social Work from the University at Buffalo, SUNY, where her clinical training focused on substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.
Mia brings a collaborative, strengths-based approach to her work, integrating her training in Motivational Interviewing, DBT and mindfulness. She also has a specialty in executive functioning, supporting clients with behavior change, emotional regulation, and their underlying cognitive processes—especially at moments of transition, recovery, or increased demand.
Prior to her clinical training, Mia worked for many years as a mental health and executive functioning coach and meditation teacher. This background informs her integrative style, allowing her to meet clients where they are while helping them build practical skills, insight, and self-trust in service of the changes they want to make.
