Ariana Vidaña, PH.D.
Dr. Ariana Vidaña is a postdoctoral fellow with a doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Toledo and a BS in Education and Social Policy with a concentration in Human Development and Psychological Services from Northwestern University. Her research explores the association between post-traumatic stress disorder and substance use disorders through emotion dysregulation and emotion-focused treatments for co-occurring post-traumatic stress disorder and substance use disorders. She completed her predoctoral internship at VA Boston Healthcare System, providing evidence-based treatment for veterans with substance use disorders in residential and outpatient treatment settings, couple therapy for substance use disorders, and treating posttraumatic stress disorder.
She takes an anti-racist and anti-oppressive approach to her clinical work, pulling from evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). She strives to create a nonjudgmental, warm, and trusting atmosphere to develop a therapeutic relationship that provides support and encourages growth.
